Here are some programs that I've written. Some of them I still actively maintain, even if "active maintenance" means I don't touch it for quite a few months, then work on it when I need more out of it. And at least one is a program that's a large team of developers.
Armagetron Advanced
I didn't write this.
But somehow I managed to get drafted as a member of the Evil Triumvirate
that administers the project.
Carlinux
This is my own custom linux distribution. It is designed to be a very small operating system that will boot from a USB pendrive. The idea is that I want to stick a motherboard in my glove compartment, hook up a power supply and a USB hub, and place the HUB out where I can reach it. Then I'll just plug in the pendrive with the operating system on it and have a computer in my car.
Note: this is still in a very early alpha stage. There is a distribution that can be built and run, but it's not anywhere near ready to run. OS building isn't for the faint of heart.
Crimson Fields
I didn't write this either.
I am a content writer. I work on the backstory for the game,
and I check scenario briefings and edit them to ensure internal consistency. I also help plan
campaigns. The game itself is a tactical wargame in the tradition of Battle Isle. So it's basically
a hex-based game with tanks and stuff. You should visit the link for more information.
Dave's Stupid Accountant
This is a double-entry home accounting program that I've written. We use it for our own books.
Dave's Stupid Alarm Clock
This is the alarm clock that we use in my house.
Dave's Stupid Text Editor
This is the text editor that I wrote and use. I searched long and hard for a text editor that provided a simple 2-pane user interface without a bunch of other stuff. In the left pane, I wanted a treeview file browser, and in the right pane a tabbed notebook with all open files, and syntax highlighting. Kate and Quanta both came close to providing this, but had their own quirks that made them a pain to use. So I finally broke down and wrote my own.
Gensite
Gensite is the program that I wrote to generate this website. It requires python.
Orbital Robotics
This is my team for the Google Lunar X Prize. We are building a lunar rover to compete for this prize.
